if you have nothing installed for that com, and haven't installed or uninstalled anything in the past week, i wouldn't worry about it unless it has affected your system performance.

Per the Tech Specs at http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dim8200/specs.htm#1101572, the 8200 only has one external Comm port.

The second com port normally comes with the installation of a modem. If you don't have a modem, the standard system only comes with a single com port.
